Shake Down Event 2007 |
With the approach of the show season almost upon us and that we did not have any events planned till June we decided to carry out a low key invasion of the Staffordshire Regimental Museum at Litchfield who kindly allowed us to utilize there grounds.

Staffordshire
Regimental Museum, Litchfield
This was to able us to air the tents and allow us to try new ideas due to the addition of new purchases. With us finally finishing the 12x12 tent we needed extra display pieces to give it a sense of being. The idea being that if the weather was inclement the display fell down and we needed some where to keep things dry, so now the kit display moves inside.

The display as it was over the weekend. Camo nets were left off due to time constraints but looking through our reference pictures it was not common in the Falklands for the tents to be netted (This is our excuse and we are sticking to it.)

2 man Pup tent display complete with socks drying on the guy rope.

Kit displays.

12x12 tent as viewed on the Sunday with a few modifications to the display layout.

Map table which still needs the final touches and the Comm's table with one of the SLR's lurking underneath. Again this needs some final
touches.

The groups second Comm's bodied trailer. This is parked along side the other
trailer to give the impression of a radio relay station/workshop.
The weekend went well and the fact that the museum did not open till 12.30 each day meant that we could fiddle without any interruptions from the public who in them selves were very interested in us and were full off questions. Low volumes equals quality time with the public.
Off the members that attended it was agreed it was an enjoyable event but a lot of hard work. Except for a few tweaks here and there it is accepted that the display will not be allowed to grow much further with out the help of more people and the addition of a period vehicle as the trailers are now full to overflowing and load balancing is starting to be problem. So if you wish to help us out feel free to contact us.
