Nantwich Festival of
Transport
10th August 2008 |

Looking towards the command tent with the AA position in front.
The South
Cheshire Military Modeling Club had recently purchased some vehicles and
invited us to be set dressing for them at the Nantwich Festival of Transport.
Seeing as it was a local event we decided to attend. Knowing that we were going
to be amongst some trees the camo nets were loaded up and of we set. We also
decided to test the AA mount for the GPMG that we had fabricated several months
earlier.

The coms trailer netted up with the AA position in front of it. Normally this
would have been in under the trees as well but we were flying the flag as usual
form the mast aerial which is mounted to the front of the trailer.
The event was a sedate affair with a slow turn
over of visitors. We drew the attention of the veterans again and some of
workers from Radway Green who were interested in the inert rounds in the
belt on the GPMG and were surprised to find that we had some 1964 RG made rounds
which was a revelation for them as they swear blind that they were not in
production at that time.

This just shows how effective the camouflage nets are even at 50 yards.
