South Cheshire Militaire
26th February 2006

Not a military show but local and at least it was indoors in the warmth and dry. The response was very high and we learnt another few valuable lessons in crowd (Sprog) control. We were situated in a very prominent position right next to the Dalek's who instantly started attacking us uttering cries of "Exterminate" and "Unit members must be Exterminated" which was a good laugh not to mention the local rag turned up and took photos of us attacking the Dalek's which left us in hysterics.

It was also the first outing for our Falklands regiments; The Welsh Guards and 40 Commando. Over all a good result and a cracking day.

Chatham Militaria - Chatham Docks
12th March2006

Having to visit relatives in Luton I decided to take a trip down to Chatham docks to have a look at the  UKMS Militaria fair held every month there. Passing Watford gap on the M1 the night before I  realised I had left my boots behind so when after arriving a frantic search for a pair of boots was made and luckily enough some one had a pair albeit a tad small but they would suffice.

But what I had not allowed for was the cold wind, OMG how cold was it, it took almost the trip back to Luton before my feet warmed up, and that was with the heaters on full.

Next time,  I will make sure the cold weather kit is in the car just in case.

Rufford Through The Ages
Rufford Abbey, Notts.
21st May 2006

This was our first main show of the season and it turned out to be a very wet one.  Due to the weather conditions the public attendance was low but the interest was very high.

The Medieval and Roman re-enactors looked on in jealousy as we were walking around in  good old British army ponchos and nice warm dry boots

although they did have the last laugh as we were situated in a hollow and ended having to be towed out by an attending tractor

Scott during a dry spell sporting his old Cheshire beret.

General view of the camp with Scott sporting the latest in wet weather designer wear the good old British Poncho.
