Fighting Passions
Documentary featuring interviews with soldiers on the
act that defines them: killing.
For civilians, it is a crime. For soldiers, it is a job. Soldiers who have
done it don't usually talk about it, but five former British infantrymen
recall the reality of combat in compelling and candid detail. Through
powerful personal testimonies, the programme traces the journeys of these
men from young recruits, through training and frontline combat, to where
killing places them today.
- Broadcast on: BBC Two, 11:00pm Sunday 24th May 2009
- Duration: 60 minutes
In February Forces 80 received an
email from an London based production company asking for some urgent
information regarding the uniforms for Northern Ireland and the Falklands.
They also asked if we would be willing to do some reconstructions for
them. We asked them when and they said the coming Sunday. Any other time
this may have been a problem but luck had it that we were in London at the
Firepower museum that weekend. So on the Sunday two members Darren and
Paul headed across the Thames river to the studios where they were filmed
doing various activities with the majority of scenes being edited or not
used.
Right Top: Paul dressed as a Para being
filmed.
Right Bottom: Couple of shots of Darren on the set badged as a
Scotts Guard.
